From the moment 11-year old Dennis picked up a ukulele and taught himself that first song, he was hooked on music. During junior high, he played with "The Versatiles" in the local community. Next, he and his brother, Bob, formed "The Cyclones" playing at high school dances and venues throughout Los Angeles. Dennis moved on to other local bands including "Santa Monica Freeway" with a young female singer, Randy Crawford, who made a splash with a hit entitled "Street Life".

He caught the attention and interest of major artists who invited him to join their acts and perform in many first-class venues like Lincoln Center and the Monterey Jazz Festival. With artists including Nancy Wilson, Lou Rawls and the Pointer Sisters he honed his musical skills in the areas of rhythm and blues, jazz, and pop travelling the United States, Europe and Australia. From Canal Street in New Orleans to New York's Carnegie Hall, on television and in videos, Dennis was a featured soloist.

Road work is great experience, especially when one learns from his own heroes every night. Working with artists who shared the bill with B. B. King, Ray Charles, Albert King and other greats only reinforced what Dennis had already learned about the blues from his studies. That's probably why the first time Smokey Robinson hired a guitarist for live rhythm and solo work to use in addition to Marv Tarplin (his long-time co-writer), Dennis was Smokey's choice.

Along the way, Dennis heard another compelling call - that of composing. So strong was the call that he bade the road adieu and developed a band called SIRIUS MAGIC which has performed internationally and has allowed him the latitude to devote time to writing. To date, his songs have been recorded by vocalists as diverse as Smokey Robinson and Debra Laws. His compositions have been heard in feature films, in Las Vegas shows and in a CD which is part of an award winning educational program for children. Whether producing, composing, arranging or performing, Dennis is equally at ease because music is his life's expression. As you listen, discover what a wonderful life it is!
